Check your battery health in Settings then Battery then Battery Health and Charging. If it shows below 80 percent your battery has degraded and replacement is the fix. If it shows above 80 percent check which apps are consuming background power in the battery usage section. If the drain is severe regardless of app usage bring it in for a free assessment.
This is almost always a degraded battery that can no longer deliver consistent voltage under load. Try a force restart first by pressing Volume Up, then Volume Down, then holding the Side button. If it keeps happening the battery needs replacing.
Go to Settings then Battery then Battery Health and Charging. If you see a message about performance management being applied Apple is throttling your processor because the battery cannot support full performance. A battery replacement removes this throttle immediately.
If your battery percentage drops suddenly from 40 percent to 10 percent or jumps back up when you restart the battery capacity reading has become unreliable. This is a sign of significant degradation and the battery needs replacing.
